Thanks for the thoughtful post, Dottie. I completely agree. I think a playoff system is coming soon. There's been such a demand for it… and, I think the big wigs have figured out ways to make money from it. It'll just be a matter of re-tooling the regular season and conference championship schedules a bit and deciding how many games, etc. I think we'll see a playoff system within the next 5 years… but, we'll see.

It honestly sounds like it was a viable call. (I was in the office and could hear the husband shouting from the other room) It has to be written somewhere otherwise there would be one heck of an investigation going on.

But instead, let's look at the BCS and see how this system we have set up is NOT viable. Texas should have won last year. And there are many other instances where other teams should be champions. This year though.. Texas doesn't deserve playing anywhere near the championship. They almost lost to A&M and NU. Florida being upset by Alabama. Alabama almost losing to Auburn. Really? These guys are our top three teams? This just isn't working. That's a system that needs to be worked on. Years ago there was a talk of a play-off system.. let's look at that again. Or something. Anything.

I love my Huskers, but this isn't the best team I've seen. (And I know others are better) Our offense gets it's butt in gear and we may have a chance. Then we wouldn't be discussing this situation. (But I'm glad we've had losses over the years so 'fake' fans can get off the bandwagon.) Anyway, I could go on and on about the BCS, football, and the future of my alumni, NU.

It's interesting… I agree with this and I don't. The rules are in place for a reason. Certain play are reviewable and certain ones are not. For example, when the Texas player fell down on the kickoff and they said he was down. Had that been reviewed, they would have seen he wasn't down. But, according to the rules, that play is not reviewable. Penalties aren't reviewable… and, so on. So, rules are rules…

Yet, you don't want a system that's too limiting and makes instant replay useless. In the end, as much as it sucks, I think the call was the right call.

The ruling came from the replay booth, plain and simple. Nebraska has a right to be upset because the clock struck 0:00, but it was no doubt the right decision.

Shane – I see your point but their was no reversal of a ruling on the field. The pass was ruled incomplete and it remained incomplete, therefore no reversal of a ruling was made. Game over.

How can the Big 12 Review Officials not know what is and is not reviewable? Did they not have a copy of their own rules in the press box with them? Unbelievable!!!

I agree. The one second belonged there. As a Husker fan, I want the win… but, as a college football fan, I'm glad the system worked the way it is meant to. Besides, NU had its opportunities and missed them. Without the kick out of bounds, I think a field goal never even gets kicked. But, that's how it goes…

I think this clause would be kind of a catch all...

There was a legit 1 second left when the ball hit the ground. I'd have taken that win sure... but I would have felt dirty about it...
